Lesson Policy

Lesson Fees
Half-term Private:	$150 for 5-weeks
Full-term Private:	$300 for 10-weeks
Half-term Group:	$100 each for 5-weeks
Full-term Group:	$200 each per 10-weeks
Half-term Percussion Workshop:	$200 per 5-weeks
Full-term Percussion Workshop:	$400 per 10-weeks
Half-term Band Workshops:	$250 per 5-weeks
Full-term Band Workshops:	$500 per 10-weeks
Pre-School classes:	$100 times 5 weeks
Pre-School classes:	$200 times 10 weeks

Registration
Our normal teaching year is from 15 January  through to 18 December. You may register and begin lessons at any time, but you will be registering for the remainder of the year. There is an annual registration fee for all students of $30.

Holiday Schedule
We do not give lessons during school holidays and all the public holidays.

Group Lessons
There are no refunds or make up lessons for missing Group Lessons, Band Workshops, Pre-School or Percussion Workshops. The teacher must be paid the same amount whether 3 or 10 students show up for the lesson. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Late Arrivals
Students arriving late will not have their lesson time extended. This backs up the entire schedule and presents scheduling problems for everyone concerned. If a student is more than fifteen minutes late the teacher will be dismissed and no replacement lesson will be available.

No-Shows
Any cancellation or missed lesson without 24 hours notice is considered a no show. Failure to show up for lessons creates a loss of income for the teacher who has set aside time for the student in good faith. This means that if you do not show up for a lesson, for any reason, there are no refunds, make up lessons, or credits. If the instructor fails to show up for a lesson for any reason, a make up lesson will be scheduled during the same calendar month.

Make-up Lessons
Make-up lessons are offered twice a term. Students must schedule a make up lesson within two weeks at the teacher’s convenience. Please note that cancelling on the day of your lesson does not qualify for a make-up lesson. Make-up lessons must be taken in the same term that the lesson was cancelled.

Care of Students
The school is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. Parents with students under the age of 5 are asked to remain in the school during classes. Young students are not to be left at the school for an excessive time  before or after lessons.

Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events
It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of school activities such as recitals and dates the school is open and closed. We will make every effort to inform all students of activities by posting them within the school, on the website, and by blanket emails. Therefore it is the parents’ or adult student’s responsibility to provide the school with a valid email address. It is also the responsibility of the parent or adult student to inform the school of any address or telephone number change.

Withdrawals
Registration is for the entire teaching year. A withdrawal form must be completed thirty days before terminating lessons. If this notice is not given a $60 withdrawal fee will be charged. Withdrawal forms are available from the school.
